Design Registration
A design refers to the new or original features of shape, configuration, pattern or ornament that are applied to an article. A design must be distinctive and must give an article a unique appearance. A registered design protects the visible features of shape, configuration, pattern or ornament applied to an article, by any industrial process, which appeal to the eye.
Registering a design means the registrant has the exclusive right to the design in relation to the article for which the design is registered. If other people use the registered design in the course of their trade or business in relation to the same or similar articles without the consent of the registrant, they may be liable for infringement of design and the registrant may take legal action against them.
Our services include assistance in design filing, conduct of design searches, issuance of design opinions, and assistance in recording the handover of intellectual property with the relevant authorities to ensure the proper transition thereof in case there are ownership changes in an enterprise.
